Shirinashigawa River

Japanese: 尻無川 - しりなしがわ

It is one of the branches of the old Yodo River that runs through Osaka City. It branches off from the Kizu River on the border between Nishi Ward, Naniwa Ward, and Taisho Ward, flows southwest, and empties into Osaka Port. It is 4 km long. Since its renovation in 1916, it has played a secondary role in Osaka Port. There are landing areas and warehouses along the coast, and behind them are ironworks and sawmills. After World War II, the downstream area was widened, the sawmill and lumber yards were relocated, and the Taisho Inner Port was established. In recent years, the Nanko Port reclaimed land was established offshore from the mouth of the river, and the concentration of factories has progressed even further.

大阪市内を貫流する旧淀川の分流の一つ。西区，浪速区，大正区の境界で木津川から分れ，南西流して大阪港に注ぐ。長さ 4km。 1916年改修工事が行われて以来，大阪港の補助的機能を果す。沿岸には荷揚げ場や倉庫が並び，その背後には鉄工所，製材工場などが立地。第2次世界大戦後，下流部が拡幅され，製材，貯木場は移転して，大正内港が設けられた。近年，河口の沖合いに南港埋立地が設けられ，一段と工場の集中が進んだ。
