Japanese: 白峰[村] - しらみね

An old village in Ishikawa County, southern Ishikawa Prefecture. As an isolated mountain village upstream of the Tedori River, it was known as a typical area for desaku (sake entry and exit). As it is an area with heavy snowfall, large houses with thick clay walls can be seen. It is home to Lake Tedori, Shiramine Kogen Ski Resort, and Hakusan Hot Springs. Torimochi and Ushiku Tsumugi are local specialties. National Route 157 runs through the area, making it a base for climbing Mt. Hakusan. In February 2005, it merged with Matto City, Ishikawa County's Mikawa Town, Tsurugi Town, Kawachi Village, Yoshinotani Village, Torigoe Village, and Oguchi Village to become a city, Hakusan City. 221.88 ^km2 . 1,194 people (2003).

石川県南部，石川郡の旧村。手取(てどり)川上流の隔絶された山村であったため，典型的な出作（出作・入作）地域として知られた。また豪雪地帯のため土壁の厚い大きな民家も見られる。手取湖，白峰高原スキー場，白山温泉がある。とりもち，牛首紬を特産。国道157号線が通じ，白山登山の基地。2005年２月松任市，石川郡美川町，鶴来町，河内村，吉野谷村，鳥越村，尾口村と合併し市制，白山市となる。221.88km²。1194人（2003）。
