…In the past, the provincial capital of Owari was located here, and the remains of the provincial government office and the Sosha Kokufumiya Shrine (Okunitama Shrine) can be found in Matsushita, about 1km east of the current city center. The current city center developed as Inaba-juku, a post station on the Mino Kaido road, during the Edo period, and at that time, there was one honjin and one wakihonjin station. Inazawa Station on the Tokaido Main Line opened in 1904, and one of the largest marshalling yards in the country was built in 1925. …
