He was a vassal of Tokuso who was active in the west in the late Kamakura period. He was commonly known as Heiemon Nyudo. His first appearance in historical documents was in 1262 when he went to Eison of Saidaiji Temple as an envoy of Hojo Tokiyori. He engaged in loan business in Kyoto, and in 1271 he was sued for seizing the annual tax money of Ninnaji Temple at Katadaura in Omi. In 1273 he served as the general magistrate for the construction of Tadain Temple in Settsu. In 1277 he rebuilt Kumeda Temple in Izumi (present-day Kishiwada City, Osaka Prefecture), and in 1282 he invited Eison to hold a memorial service for the temple. As Shugodai of Settsu, he issued a letter of instruction in 1284 for prayers for the surrender of foreign countries. In 1302, he renovated Fukudomari in Harima (present-day Himeji City, Hyogo Prefecture). He died at the age of 91 in Gojo, Kyoto in 1329.
