Warm sensation

A sensation caused by an increase in temperature. When heat is supplied to the thermoreceptors present on the skin of the entire body and on the mucous membranes of the mouth, pharynx, larynx, anus, etc., information is sent to the brain via sensory nerves, causing a sensation of warmth. There are two types of sensation of warmth: that caused by a constant skin temperature and that caused by changes in skin temperature. When the skin temperature is constant, the higher the skin temperature, the stronger the sensation of warmth. When the skin temperature changes, we examine the temperature rise required to cause a sensation of warmth; the lower the initial skin temperature, the stronger the heating required to cause a sensation of warmth. For example, when the skin temperature is 28°C, a warmth sensation will not occur unless the skin is heated by 1°C or more, but when the skin temperature is 38°C, a warmth sensation will occur even if the skin is heated by 0.2°C or less. In addition, the sensation of warmth is also affected by the speed of temperature change and the size of the skin area where the change in skin temperature occurs.

温度の上昇によって生じる感覚。全身の皮膚および口腔，咽頭，喉頭，肛門などの粘膜に存在する温覚受容器に熱が供給されると，その情報が感覚神経を介して脳に送られて，温覚を生じる。温覚には一定皮膚温に対するものと，皮膚温変化に対するものの2つがある。一定皮膚温の場合には，皮膚温が高いほど温覚は強く感じる。皮膚温が変化する場合には，何度の温度上昇で温覚が起きるかを調べるが，最初の皮膚温が低いほど，強い加温でなければ温覚が生じない。たとえば皮膚温 28℃の場合は1℃以上の加温でなければ温覚は起きないが，38℃であれば 0.2℃以下の加温によっても温覚が起る。そのほか温覚は，温度変化の速度や皮膚温変化の起る皮膚面積の大小によっても影響を受ける。
