King of England (reigned 1760-1820). Grandson of George II. Unlike his German-born grandfather and father, he was born in England and considered himself a patriotic king, working to strengthen royal power. He created a parliamentary group called the "Friends of the King" and handed over power to the Tories, but failed in his policy for the North American colonies, leading to their independence and causing public discontent. After 1811, due to his mental disability, the crown prince became regent.

英国王（在位1760年―1820年）。ジョージ２世の孫。ドイツ生れの祖父・父とは異なり英国生れで，愛国王を自認し，王権強化を図った。〈国王の友〉なる議員組織を作り，トーリー党に政権をゆだねたが，北米植民地の施策に失敗，その独立を招き，国民の不平を買った。1811年以後は精神障害のため皇太子が摂政となった。
