Japanese: 帰還 - きかん

A term used in control engineering and communications engineering to refer to a circuit or system in which part or all of the output of an amplifier or other electrical circuit or system is sent back to the input. This is also called feedback, and when the output is returned in the opposite phase to the input, it is called negative feedback. Negative feedback amplifiers reduce the amplification but also reduce distortion, so they are used in hi-fi. When the output is returned in the same phase, it is called positive feedback, and is used in oscillators and regenerative amplifiers.

制御工学，通信工学の用語で，増幅器など一つの電気回路，また系統において出力の一部または全部が入力側に送り返されること。フィードバックともいい，入力に対し逆位相で戻される場合を負帰還（ネガティブ・フィードバック）と呼ぶ。負帰還増幅器は，増幅度は減少するが，ひずみも少なくなるので，ハイファイに用いられる。また同位相で戻されることを正帰還といい，発振器や再生増幅器に利用される。
