An agricultural book published by Okura Nagatsune in 1826 (Bunsei 9). He argues that the cause of poor harvests in Japan is the infestation of pests, particularly planthoppers, and examines methods for exterminating them, explaining the benefits and uses of spreading whale oil. He then published Joukouroku Kohen in 1844 (Koka 1), in which he described the production and uses of mustard oil, tung oil, fish oil, and other oils for regions where whale oil could not be obtained. Both books were the first in Japan to describe pest control and agricultural chemicals. Included in the Complete Collection of Japanese Agricultural Books.
