A Nichiren-based lay Buddhist sect with its headquarters in Shibuya, Tokyo. It was founded by Miyamoto Mitsu (1900-84). Miyamoto belonged to the Reiyukai, which was led by Kubo Kakutaro and Kotani Yoshimi, but left the sect in 1950 to found Myochikai. It is based on the three Lotus Sutras, the Lotus Sutra, the Muryogikyo, and the Kannon Sutra, and inherits the doctrines and rituals of its parent organization, the Reiyukai. In particular, its doctrine of the practice of ancestor memorial services based on the Lotus Sutra is a distinctive feature of Reiyukai-based sects, which are shared with other sects that separated from Reiyukai, such as the Myodokai of Sahara Chujiro, the Butsusho Gonenkai of Sekiguchi Yoshikazu, the Hoshikai of Saito Toyokichi, the Seigikai of Yamaguchi Masae, and the Daiekai of Ishikura Yasusuke.
