This shrine is located in Fudai Village, Shimohei District, Iwate Prefecture. The kanji for cormorant bird can be read as "unotori" or "unedori." The main shrine is located near the summit of Mount Unetori. The Cormorant Kagura dance, which is dedicated at the annual festival held on April 8th of the lunar calendar every year, is designated as an Important Intangible Folk Cultural Property of Japan.
