A Chinese Ming Dynasty politician from Changzhou (Wu County, Jiangsu Province). His courtesy name was Zichun. He was appointed as a Jinshi in 1521. He served as the prefect of Jingzhou and held various other government posts. In 1547, he was appointed governor of Zhejiang and played an active role in suppressing the Japanese pirates. He strengthened coastal defense facilities, increased surveillance of incoming and outgoing ships, and imposed stricter ban-jia laws on coastal residents, which contributed greatly to the eradication of the Japanese pirates. However, his measures were too strict, which caused the animosity of the local nobles and wealthy merchants who profited from smuggling, and he was impeached by their schemes. In anger, he took poison to death.

中国，明代の政治家。長洲（江蘇省呉県）の人。字は子純。正徳16（1521）年の進士。景州知州を振り出しに諸官を歴任し，嘉靖26（1547）年浙江巡撫を命じられて倭寇の討伐に活躍した。海防施設を増強，出入船舶の監視を厳重にし，沿海住民の保甲（→保甲法）を厳しくして海寇の絶滅に大いに功を上げたが，その処置が厳格すぎたので密貿易により利益を得ていた郷紳，豪商の反感を買い，彼らの画策によって弾劾を受け，それを憤って服毒死した。
