Jubu-gi (English spelling) Shi-bu-ji

Japanese: 十部伎 - じゅうぶぎ(英語表記)Shi-bu-ji
Jubu-gi (English spelling) Shi-bu-ji
The musical system in the Chinese Tang Dynasty imperial court. In order to prevent the Western and other foreign music (Hu music) that had been imported in earnest from the Northern and Southern Dynasties from mixing with China's own Gagaku (ritual music of the Tenchi Sect Temple) and folk music, the seven musical instruments were established at the beginning of the Sui Dynasty by combining Qingshang music (folk music from the Han Dynasty), Xiliang music (a combination of Qingshang music and Guizi music), Guizi music (Kucha in Xinjiang), Tianzhu music (India), Anguk music (Bukhara in Uzbekistan), Goryeo music (Goguryeo), and Wenkang music (Chinese music, also called Libi). During the reign of Emperor Yang, Zouqin (Kashgar, Xinjiang) and Kangguogui (Samarkand, Uzbekistan) were added to make a Nine-Part Gui, and in the early Tang Dynasty, Wenkanggui was replaced by Zhonglegui (Chinese music) and Gaochanggui (Turfan, Xinjiang) was added to complete the Ten-Part Gui, which continued to be performed until the end of the Tang Dynasty. Each Gui had its own instruments, music, and clothing, and all ten Gui were performed at the same time. It was the flower of court music during the Tang Dynasty.
