Modifiers - Food

Japanese: 修飾語 - しゅうしょくご
Modifiers - Food

A word used to limit the meaning of a sentence component. There are attributive modifiers such as " one day," " spring flowers," and " beautiful person," and predicative modifiers such as "throw it on the road ," "get up early ," and "run slowly ." Attributive modifiers include conjunctions, nouns + no, adjectives, adjectival verbs, and the attributive form of verbs, while predicative modifiers include nouns + case particles, the conjunctive forms of adjectives and adjectival verbs, and adverbs. In the case of " My father suddenly yelled out, " there are two theories: one that "my father" modifies "ageta" in the same way as "suddenly" and "yelled out," and that they should be treated the same as predicative modifiers, and the other that "my father" is not a predicative modifier and should be treated separately as a subject. Predicative modifiers can also be used with a subjunctive particle or a connecting particle attached, as in "playing only with my brothers " and "can't take it easy ," or with "no" added as a predicative modifier, as in " sudden event" and "conversation with my father ."
