An industry that manufactures and sells parts that are incorporated into home electrical appliances such as televisions and audio equipment, as well as computers, office equipment, and communication equipment. Electronic components are generally divided into general components and active components. General electronic components are further subdivided into passive components such as resistors, capacitors, coils, transformers, filters, and vibrators, mechanical components such as switches, relays, connectors, and connection terminal boards, and functional components such as printed wiring boards (printed circuit boards), microphones, speakers, pickups, magnetic heads, and magnetic tapes.
