Timurid poet and historian. Born in Yazd. He first served Shah Rukh's son Ibrahim, and was later invited by Sultan Muhammad of Qom. However, he incurred Shah Rukh's wrath in connection with Muhammad's rebellion and was sent to Samarkand in 1446-47. In 1449 he retired to the village of Takht near his hometown of Yazd, where he died. He was renowned as one of the leading Persian writers of his time. His major work, The Book of Victory, is a biography of Timur that he rewrote in ornate prose after Ibrahim Sultan had compiled it (completed in 1424-25).

ティムール朝の詩人，歴史家。ヤズド生れ。初めシャー･ルフの子のイブラーヒームに仕え，後にコムのスルターン･ムハンマドに招かれたが，ムハンマドの反乱に関連してシャー･ルフの怒りを買い，1446∥47年サマルカンドに送られた。49年に故郷ヤズドの近くのタフト村に隠遁し，そこで没した。当時第一級の洗練されたペルシア語の名文家として著名であった。主著《勝利の書》は，イブラーヒーム･スルターンによる大編纂事業の後を受けて，彼が華麗な装飾的散文に書き直したティムールの伝記である(1424∥25完成)。
