Itowarifu History Book - Itowarifu History Book

A history book of the Kyoto Itowarifu Association compiled in the late Edo period. One volume. It describes the history and privileges of itowarifu merchants from the establishment of the itowarifu system in 1604 (Keicho 9) to 1815 (Bunka 12), and is one of the basic historical materials for the history of trade in Japan in the early modern period. There is also a book of the same name by Ito Gonzaemon in 1800 (Kansei 12) (included in Zokuzoku Gunsho Ruiju vol. 16), but it is abbreviated. Several similar books are known to have been handed down.

江戸末期に編纂(へんさん)された京都糸割符仲間の由緒書。1冊。1604年（慶長9）糸割符制創設の経緯から、1815年（文化12）までの糸割符商人の沿革と特権の内容を記したもので、わが国の近世貿易史の基本史料の一つ。1800年（寛政12）伊藤権左衛門著の同名の書（『続々群書類従』16所収）があるが簡略。また数点の類書の伝存が知られている。
