Japanese: 粢 - しとぎ

〘Noun〙 Rice cakes offered to the gods. Steamed glutinous rice cakes that are then pounded into an egg shape. Also called torinoko due to their shape. One theory is that they are made from non-glutinous rice flour. Shitogi mochi. Shihei. Shi . [Kyowahon Shinsen Jikyo (around 898-901)] ※Uji Shui (around 1221) 4 "After having the Shitogi prepared and having a fold laid out, he ate a little and said, "Is it delicious? Is it delicious?"
