An economic magazine first published in June 1897 (Meiji 30). It was published by the Dai-Nippon Jitsugyo Gakkai and its publisher Mitsuoka Iichiro. It is said that this magazine popularized the word "jitsugyo," which is the English equivalent of "business." Mitsuoka fell ill and transferred the editing and publishing rights of the magazine to his schoolmate Masuda Giichi, who then established Jitsugyo no Nihon Sha and took over the magazine's publication. Masuda then published articles about successful people's struggles and secrets to success, which were well received and established the magazine's editorial policy. It warned young people in the business world against taking a salary-based lifestyle and encouraged them to discover their own path and to willingly face hardships. Initially, it was published monthly, then twice a month from 1899, but in 1945 (Showa 20) it returned to monthly publication, and in 1948 it became a bimonthly publication again. In 1981, the name was changed to Jitsugyo no Nippon (Japan Business), but it ceased publication in 2002 (Heisei 14). Jitsugyo no Nippon Sha expanded into other areas, and in 1909 (Meiji 42), Nitobe Inazo was appointed as an advisor. After World War II, the company became a more comprehensive publisher.
