Earthquake zone - earthquake

Japanese:
Earthquake zone - earthquake
A belt-like area where earthquakes occur frequently. Globally, the most representative are the Circum-Pacific earthquake belt and the earthquake belt that runs from the Mediterranean coast through the Himalayas to the Malay and Indonesian islands. In plate tectonics theory, the belt-like distribution is along the plate boundary. In addition, seismic activity is distributed in a fine belt along active faults. The outer seismic belt is the earthquake belt that runs along the island arc on the Pacific side of the Japanese archipelago, and the inner seismic belt is the earthquake belt that runs along the Japan Sea coast of the Japanese archipelago. Within the Japanese archipelago, Fusakichi Omori, Akitsune Imamura, and others proposed the Edogawa seismic belt, the Shinano River seismic belt, and the Yodogawa seismic belt, but in recent years, as a result of progress in research on the spatial distribution of epicenters, there is a strong opinion that it is better to express earthquake-prone areas as three-dimensional ``earthquake nests'' rather than a two-dimensional belt-like distribution.
