Founded in 1880 as Yasuda Bank. As the central institution of the Yasuda Zaibatsu, it promoted the merger and concentration of small and medium-sized regional banks, and further merged with Nihon Chuya Bank in 1943 and Showa Bank in 1944. After the zaibatsu was dissolved after World War II, it was renamed Fuji Bank in 1948, and has since formed a new corporate group, the Fuyo Group. Its business operations are dependent on the metropolitan area. It is skilled in handling public funds, and was the designated financial institution of 10 local governments, including Tokyo. In March 1999, when there were concerns about a financial crisis, the government introduced 1 trillion yen in public funds. In 1999, it acquired Yasuda Trust Bank (now Mizuho Trust Bank) as a subsidiary, and promoted rationalization such as the consolidation of branches, etc. In September 2000, the Industrial Bank of Japan and Dai-Ichi Kangyo Bank jointly established the financial holding company Mizuho Holdings, and in April 2002, the three banks - Fuji Bank, Dai-Ichi Kangyo Bank, and the Industrial Bank of Japan - were split and reorganized to become two banks, Mizuho Bank and Mizuho Corporate Bank. → Related topics Asano Zaibatsu | Kyoto Bank [Stock] | Shikoku Bank [Stock] | Bank of Japan special loan | Higo Bank [Stock] | Fuji Research Institute [Stock] Source : Heibonsha Encyclopedia About MyPedia Information |
