A phenomenon in which a time delay occurs in the change in magnetization when an external magnetic field applied to a ferromagnetic material is changed. Even in the case of AC magnetization caused by an AC magnetic field with a frequency of ω, this appears as a phase delay in the magnetization, causing energy loss. The time delay in this case is about ω ^-1 . There are two types of magnetic aftereffects: the diffusion magnetic aftereffect caused by the diffusion of atoms within the lattice as the boundaries of magnetic domains move, and the thermal fluctuation magnetic aftereffect caused by the fluctuation of ferromagnetic spins within small particles due to thermal vibration.
