Frequent urination - hinnyo

A normal person urinates 6 to 7 times a day. If the number of times you urinate increases beyond that, it is called frequent urination, and it can occur for a variety of reasons. Diseases that cause an increase in urine volume, or polyuria, include diabetes, diabetes insipidus, and renal failure. Infections that cause frequent urination include cystitis and prostatitis. In tuberculous cystitis and radiation cystitis, the bladder itself is small, causing frequent urination. In some types of neurogenic bladder, frequent urination occurs because reflex bladder contractions occur frequently. This phenomenon can also be seen when a tumor or stone is formed in the bladder. External pressure on the bladder can be caused by a pregnant uterus, as well as tumors in the uterus, ovaries, and rectum. In addition, in the case of nervous frequent urination, which occurs psychologically despite the absence of the above-mentioned organic diseases, frequent urination occurs only during the day and not at night when asleep.

正常人では1日の排尿回数は6～7回である。それ以上に排尿回数の増加したものを頻尿といい、種々の原因によっておこる。尿量増加すなわち多尿のためおこる疾患として、糖尿病、尿崩症、腎(じん)不全などがある。感染による刺激によって頻尿をおこすものに、膀胱(ぼうこう)炎、前立腺(ぜんりつせん)炎などがある。また、結核性膀胱炎、放射線膀胱炎では膀胱そのものが小さくなっているために頻尿となる。神経因性膀胱のある型では反射性の膀胱収縮がしばしばおこるために頻尿をおこす。この現象は、膀胱内に腫瘍(しゅよう)や結石ができたときにもみられる。膀胱外からの圧迫によるものでは、妊娠子宮のほか、子宮、卵巣、直腸の腫瘍(しゅよう)がある。なお、前記の器質的疾患がないにもかかわらず精神的におこる神経性頻尿では、頻尿は日中だけで夜間就眠時はみられないのが特徴である。
