A geophysical survey using magnetic force. This method uses a magnetometer to measure the strength of the earth's magnetic field and detects highly magnetic iron ore deposits and layers of iron sand. It is also widely used in surveys of the underground structure of volcanoes and the structure of the earth's crust. Measurements using magnetometers are not only carried out on the ground, but also in the air and at sea using aircraft and survey ships. This method is also used to detect landmines and weapons.
