An old French unit of area. It was used to indicate the area of cultivated land and forests. In many cases, it is equivalent to 100 square perches, but the length of a perche varies depending on the location, and the area of an arpent is not constant, ranging from 20a to just over 50a. There are also cases where arpents of different areas coexist within the same village. The three most common types in the Paris area are 34.19a (arpent de Paris), 42.21a (arpent commun), and 51.07a (arpent d'ordonnance). Source: Heibonsha World Encyclopedia, 2nd Edition Information |
パリ地域での代表的なものは,34.19a(arpent de Paris),42.21a(arpent commun),51.07a(arpent d’ordonnance)の3種。
