This is the diary of Kiko Daishuku, a Gozan monk from the mid-Muromachi period. It is also called Shoken Nichiroku. Daishuku served as the abbot of Tofukuji Temple in Kyoto, and wrote this diary at Kaieiji Temple in Sakai (present-day Sakai City, Osaka Prefecture), where he spent his later years. The articles from 1484 to 1486 remain, and they include information on the state of Sakai as an autonomous city at the time, the state of trade between Japan and Ming there, and even his friendship with literati such as Sogi. → Kyoto Gozan

室町時代中期の五山(ござん)僧である季弘大叔(きこうだいしゅく)の日記。〈しょけんにちろく〉ともいう。大叔は京都東福寺の住持を務め，日記は晩年を過ごした堺の海会(かいえ)寺（現大阪府堺市）で記された。1484年から1486年までの記事が現存し，当時の自治都市としての堺の状況，そこで行われた日明(にちみん)貿易の様子，さらには宗祇(そうぎ)ら文人との交遊などについても記される。→京都五山
