Overall balance

Japanese: 総合収支 - そうごうしゅうし（英語表記）overall balance

The current account balance is the sum of the current account and the long-term capital account (i.e., the primary balance), plus the short-term capital account and errors and omissions. The total of receipts and payments always equals the total of payments in the overall balance of payments, which directly reflects the financial account. The total balance is therefore particularly important when examining trends in the balance of payments from the perspective of changes in a country's ability to pay for its external affairs.

経常収支と長期資本収支の合計 (すなわち基礎収支 ) にさらに短期資本収支と誤差脱漏を加えたものをいう。総合収支に金融勘定を加えた国際収支全体については，受取額の合計と支払額の合計は常に一致するから，これはそのまま金融勘定を反映する。したがって総合収支は，一国の対外支払能力の変化という見地から国際収支の動向を調べる場合に特に重要である。
