Arsenic oxide (arsenic oxide)

Japanese: 酸化ヒ素(酸化砒素) - さんかひそ（英語表記）arsenic oxide

A general term for oxides of arsenic. Diarsenic trioxide and diarsenic pentoxide, compounds with oxidation states III and V, are known. Diarsenic tetroxide, As ₂ O _4, is said to exist, but the details are not known. Diarsenic trioxide, As ₂ O ₃ , is also called arsenous acid (see the entry for arsenous acid).

The chemical formula is As ₂ O ₅ . Diarsenic trioxide is oxidized with concentrated nitric acid, then evaporated to dryness and dehydrated at 250-300°C. At temperatures above 315°C, it decomposes into diarsenic trioxide and oxygen.

　化学式As₂O₅。三酸化二ヒ素を濃硝酸で酸化してから蒸発乾固させ，250～300℃で脱水する。315℃以上で三酸化二ヒ素と酸素に分解する。
