Born October 5, 1917, Debrecen. Hungarian female novelist and poet. She published poetry while working as an elementary school teacher until 1959, but established her reputation as a novelist with Freskó (1958) and Az öz (59). She published many works after that, and her style of excellent psychological description and interior monologue has made her popular both at home and abroad.
