Szabó Magda
Born October 5, 1917, Debrecen. Hungarian female novelist and poet. She published poetry while working as an elementary school teacher until 1959, but established her reputation as a novelist with Freskó (1958) and Az öz (59). She published many works after that, and her style of excellent psychological description and interior monologue has made her popular both at home and abroad. She also wrote many children's literature works, such as Mondják meg Zsófikának (58).

[Died] January 5, 1945. Budapest. Hungarian novelist and critic. Born into a lower aristocratic family. He aspired to be a linguist, but after studying in Paris he became a teacher and began his work as an anti-Semitic critic. This led to his transfer to Nagyvárad, where he came into contact with new Hungarian poetry and began publishing critiques and novels in the magazine Seijo. He founded the Hungarian Writers' Union and served as its president. His most famous work is the novel The Drifted Village (Elsodort falu, 1919).

Hungarian politician and peasant leader. Born into a wealthy peasant family. Founder of the Small Landlords Party, Hungary's most powerful political party between the two world wars. In 1919 he served as minister without portfolio in the independent government, minister of economy, and after the collapse of the Soviet Republic, minister of agriculture. In 1920 he implemented land reform, but it had little effect. In 1922 he merged the Small Landlords Party with the Christian National Unity Party, forming the mass base of the counter-revolutionary government.

ハンガリーの小説家,評論家。下層貴族の出身。言語学者を志望したが,パリ留学ののち教師になり,反ユダヤ主義者として評論活動を始めた。それが原因でナジワーラドに転勤になり,その地でハンガリーの新しい詩に触れ,雑誌『西洋』に評論,小説を発表するようになった。ハンガリー作家協会をつくり,会長もつとめた。代表作は小説『流された村』 Elsodort falu (1919) 。

ハンガリーの政治家,農民の指導者。富農出身。両世界大戦間におけるハンガリーの最有力政党,小地主党の創立者。 1919年独立政府の無任所相,経済相,ソビエト共和国の崩壊後,農業相を歴任。 20年農地改革を実施したが,ほとんど効果をあげることができなかった。 22年小地主党をキリスト教国民統一党に合流させ,反革命政府の大衆的基盤とした。
