Slope [town] - Saka
A town in Aki District, Hiroshima Prefecture, halfway between Hiroshima City and Kure City. Facing Hiroshima Bay, the Kure Line runs through it. As there is little arable land, there have long been many immigrants to America. Oysters are cultivated here. There is a thermal power plant and a shipbuilding dock. In 1974, the Hiroshima Ohashi Bridge was opened between Hiroshima City's Minami Ward, and it has become an industrial road connecting Hiroshima City and Kure City. Koyaura is a swimming beach. 15.69 km2 . Population: 13,262 (2010).
