〘noun〙① An item made by writing characters or other evidence on a piece of wood or bamboo, then dividing it into two. A wooden tablet with a phrase or character written on it, stamping a seal in the center, and then dividing it into two halves. Each party owned it separately, and later combined each half as evidence that they were the legitimate parties. A seal. A divisor. A seal. A seal. ※Goyo Hajime Sho (around 1461), on the abdication of the throne "It was given to the Naiki to make a wooden seal, and the four characters "the shokyo will be presented to the country" were written on it and given to the Naiki. Sai-fu [tips]

〘 noun 〙 ("sai" is a variation of "saki") 1. In the Middle Ages, a bill issued when exchanging money as a means of sending money between long distances. In many cases, each bill had a face value of 10 kanmon, and functioned as a kind of security. Kirifu. Cut. Warifu. *The reverse document of the old sutras of Aki Itsukushima Shrine - July 12, 1311 (the first year of Ocho), Myobutsu exchange money letter "A total of 10 kanmon (and 3 kanmon above) (monogram). In response to the above, I will be sending this saifufumitaurai for three days on this errand as it is said to be from Nishiko-chi-machi, Kyoto." 2. In the Edo period, used to mean a written document, a seal, or evidence. ※Regional Legends (1794) 8 "The seals of generations that I have in my possession, the heads recorded in the head ledger at the time of the Battle of Aono-gehara in Mino Province, the line of those entrusted to my ancestors, the characters "Shubo" and the name of the heads, have been placed under two 20 % seals ."

さい‐ふ【割符】

〘名〙 (「さい」は「さき」の変化したもの)① 中世、遠隔地間の送金手段である替銭を行なう際に振り出された手形。多くの場合、一通につき額面十貫文とし、一種の有価証券として機能した。きりふ。きって。わりふ。※安芸厳島神社反古経裏文書‐応長元年(1311)七月一二日・明仏替銭状「合拾貫文者〈且参貫文上〉(花押)。右、件御かゑせに、このさいふふみたうらい三ケ日のうち、この御つかいに京とのにしこうちまちのやとにて、さたしわたしまいらせられ候へく候」② 江戸時代、証文、証判、証拠の意に用いる。※地方凡例録(1794)八「私所持仕候代々の印形、濃州青野ゲ原御合戦の時、首帳面に記し候首、先祖へ御預りの筋、集房と申文字の判為割符下置候」

わっ‐ぷ【割符】
