A type of woolen fabric. It is also called broadcloth for short. It is made by loosely weaving worsted or woolen yarn in the warp and woolen yarn in the weft, and then shrinking the fabric after weaving to make it dense and giving it a raised surface, giving it a smooth texture and a glossy finish. It is used for coats, sportswear, jackets, etc. It is called broadcloth because it is shrunk considerably during the finishing process, making the woven width wider. Therefore, all woolen fabrics that are shrunken and raised, as well as fabrics known by names such as melton, velour, beaver, and mossa, are now called broadcloth.
