Born January 5, 1915. The eldest son of Kimura Kinji. He served as an assistant professor at Hokkaido University, professor at Tokyo University and Waseda University, and established the foundations of Russian and Slavic studies. His translations include Pushkin's "Eugene Onegin" and his writings include "An Introduction to the Ancient Church Slavic Language." He passed away on January 18, 1986. He was 71 years old.
