...Distributed in Hokkaido and Honshu. Nipponicus var. nipponicus , major Hara var. major , japonicus var. japonicus (Nakai) Hara produces fan-shaped floating leaves. Batrachium species are sometimes considered to be part of the subgenus Batrachium of the Ranunculaceae genus, and sometimes are considered to be part of the Batrachium genus.
