Saikyozuka (English spelling) Ch'ae hyǒp-ch'ong

Japanese: 彩篋塚 - さいきょうづか（英語表記）Ch'ae hyǒp-ch'ong

This wooden coffin tomb is one of the Lelang tombs in the southern suburbs of Pyongyang, North Korea. It was excavated in 1931. The wooden coffin has two chambers and is horizontally entombed, with timber piled up in a cross pattern. Three lacquered wooden coffins were placed in the rear chamber, and grave goods and traces of murals were placed in the front chamber. The most valuable of the excavated items is a painted lacquerware box, with a body and lid made of woven bamboo skin. The box is 40 cm long, and its four corners and the top of the body are thickly lacquered, with seated figures painted on top. The figures in the four corners have inscriptions such as "Wu Yu," "Attendant of the King of Chu," and "Beautiful Woman," and the top of the box is painted with a figure based on the theme of the story of a filial son. The age of the tomb is estimated to be from the Late Han Dynasty, based on mirrors, coins, etc.

北朝鮮平壌市南郊にある楽浪古墳群の一つで，木槨墳。 1931年発掘。木槨は2室あり横穴式で材木を井桁に積んである。後室には3つの漆塗り木棺を置き，前室には副葬品を置き壁画の跡を残す。出土品のうち最も貴重なものは，竹皮を細く削って編んだ身とふたから成る彩篋漆器である。長さ 40cmの箱だが，その四隅と身の立上がりには漆を厚く塗って，その上に人物坐像が描かれている。四隅の人物には「呉玉」「楚王の侍者」「美女」などの添書きがあり，立上がりには孝子伝を主題とした人物像が描かれている。塚の年代は鏡，貨泉などからみて，後漢時代のものと推定される。
