Mixing test - Konyu Shiken

A method to confirm whether two solid organic compounds are the same. First, measure the melting point of each of the two thoroughly dried samples, then measure the melting point of a thorough mixture of the two samples. If the melting points of each individual sample and the mixture are all the same, they can be considered to be the same substance, but if the melting point of the mixture is lower, the two samples are not the same.

2種類の固体有機化合物が，同一であるかどうかを確認する方法．まず，よく乾燥した2種類の試料の融点をそれぞれ測り，次に2種類の試料をよく混合したものの融点を測る．それぞれ単独の試料の融点と混合物の融点がすべて同じときは，これらは同一物質と考えてよいが，混合物の融点が低下した場合には，2種類の試料は同一物ではない．
