?-1474 Turkish mathematician and astronomer. He was a falconer (kusiç) under the Timurid dynasty's Ulugh Beg, but due to his knowledge he was appointed director of the observatory in Samarkand, and after Ulugh Beg's death he served under Uzun Hasan of the Ak-Koyunlu dynasty. He then went to Istanbul as an envoy, where he was asked by Mehmed II to serve in the Ottoman Empire. He founded a school, taught mathematics, astronomy, and logic, and wrote many books.
