Paramolybdate

A type of molybdate. Heptamolybdate is a common name for M ^I ₆ [Mo ₇ O ₂₄ ]･ n H ₂ O (7MoO ₃ ･3M ^I ₂ O･ n H ₂ O). It is the most easily obtained of the polymolybdates, and is often what is called molybdate in analytical reagents. There is a heptapolyacid ion [Mo ₇ O ₂₄ ] ^6-, which is a heptanuclear complex that shares the edges of an octahedral MoO ₆ (Figure). It is generally obtained as a colorless crystal by adding an alkali hydroxide to an aqueous solution of molybdenum oxide (VI) MoO ₃ and heating it; it is soluble in water.

モリブデン酸塩の一つ。七モリブデン酸塩heptamolybdate M^I₆[Mo₇O₂₄]･nH₂O(7MoO₃･3M^I₂O･nH₂O)の通称。ポリモリブデン酸塩のうち最も得られやすく，分析試薬などで通常モリブデン酸塩と呼ばれるのはこれであることが多い。八面体形のMoO₆の稜を共有した七核錯体のイソポリ酸イオン[Mo₇O₂₄]^6－が存在する(図)。一般に酸化モリブデン(VI) MoO₃水溶液に，水酸化アルカリを加えて熱すると得られる無色の結晶で，水に可溶。
