A solid solution alloy based on 50% copper and 50% nickel. It has a high resistivity of 48μΩ・cm and its change with temperature is small, so it is used as a standard resistance wire in electric meters and resistance wire strain gauges. Thermocouples made by combining this with iron, nickel, and copper show a large thermoelectromotive force of 0.05 to 0.06mV (per 1°C), so it is used as a thermocouple thermometer for relatively low temperatures up to about 800°C (corresponding to the negative electrode material of JIS thermocouples E, J, and T). Depending on the manufacturer, it is often called by other names such as Advance, Coper, Eureka, and Ideal.

銅 50%，ニッケル 50%を基本とする固溶体合金。抵抗率が 48μΩ・cmと大きく，その温度による変化が小さいので，標準抵抗線として電気計器，抵抗線ひずみ計などに使われる。またこれを鉄，ニッケル，銅と組合せた熱電対は 0.05～0.06mV (1℃あたり) の大きい熱起電力を示すので，800℃程度までの比較的低温度用熱電対温度計として用いられる (JISの熱電対E，J，Tの－極材料に相当) 。メーカーによりアドバンス，コペル，ユーレカ，アイデアルなど異称が多い。
