Mixed psychosis - mixed-psychosis

Japanese: 混合精神病 - こんごうせいしんびょう（英語表記）mixed‐psychosis

This concept was given to a group of disorders that could not be classified into the two major mental disorders (schizophrenia and manic-depressive illness) as classified by the German psychiatrist Kraepelin. It was created in 1926 by Gaub, F. Mauz, and others. In other words, they argued that from the perspective of constitutional biology and multidimensional diagnostics, it is impossible to divide individual cases into disease units with clear boundaries, and that there are merely combinations or mixtures of characteristics that appear in the clinical picture, course, and prognosis. However, K. Leonhard, Hisatoshi Mitsuda, and others are critical of the existence of mixed psychoses, and have proposed the concept of atypical psychoses as a mental disorder independent of the two major mental disorders.

ドイツの精神医学者クレペリンによって分類された二大精神病(分裂病と躁鬱（そううつ）病)に位置づけられない疾患群に対して付与された概念。1926年にガウプ，マウツF.Mauzらによって創始された。すなわち彼らは個々の症例は体質生物学的多次元診断学の観点からみるとはっきりした限界をもつ疾患単位に分けることは不可能であり，病像，経過，予後に現れる特徴の組合せや混合があるにすぎないと主張した。なお，レオンハルトK.Leonhard，満田久敏らは混合精神病の存在には批判的で，二大精神病とは独立した精神病として非定型精神病の概念を提起している。
