An old town in the central-southern part of the Atsumi Peninsula, Atsumi District, Aichi Prefecture. Facing the Pacific Ocean, it is a hot climate farming town, producing a lot of melons, tomatoes, cabbages, and flowers (persimmons). The coast is part of the Mikawa Bay Quasi-National Park.
