An old town in the central-southern part of the Atsumi Peninsula, Atsumi District, Aichi Prefecture. Facing the Pacific Ocean, it is a hot climate farming town, producing a lot of melons, tomatoes, cabbages, and flowers (persimmons). The coast is part of the Mikawa Bay Quasi-National Park. 愛知県渥美郡，渥美半島中南部の旧町。太平洋に面し，畑作暖地農業が盛んで，メロン，トマト，キャベツ，花卉(かき)などを多産。海岸は三河湾国定公園に属する。2003年８月渥美郡田原町に編入され，田原市となる。23.54km2。6296人（2003）。
