In 1692, when the 6th Kanamori Yoritoki moved to Kaminoyama in Dewa, Hida was confiscated by the shogunate and came under the jurisdiction of the Hida magistrate (promoted to Hida county magistrate in 1777) who had his camp in Takayama. The first magistrate, Ina Tadaatsu, worked to reform the vestiges of the Takayama domain era, while also appointing 84 lower-ranking vassals of the Kanamori clan as local officials, assigning them mainly to the management of mines and forests. A general land survey carried out from 1694 to the following year revealed a total rice yield of over 44,469 koku. ...
