Colleoni, Bartolomeo
[Born] 1400. Bergamo, Solza
[Died] 1475. Malpaga An Italian condottieri (mercenary captain). He served the Republic of Venice, and in 1454 was appointed commander-in-chief for life. He is also known as the creator of artillery tactics. A. Verrocchio's "Colleoni on Horseback" is one of the masterpieces of Italian Renaissance sculpture.
