A Confucian scholar of the Mito Domain in the late Edo period. His pen name was Shimizu, commonly known as Mikinosuke or Jiroemon, and his pen name was Fuuken. Masahide was his given name. He was a disciple of the great Mito scholar Tachihara Suiken, and was a gentle and sincere historian. In 1783 (Tenmei 3), he served at Shokokan, and in 1799 (Kansei 11), he became a county magistrate, and for over 20 years he worked in Momiji Village (Hokota City, Ibaraki Prefecture), where he devoted himself to helping villages in difficulty. In 1830 (Tenpo 1), he became a town magistrate, and retired in 1838. In addition to the compilation of "Dai Nihonshi" and "Suitou Daiki" (1839), he also compiled many books on history and agricultural policy, such as "Suifu Shiryo" (1807), "Mizuki Kinkan" and "Nosei Zau" (both 1829). Many of these works are kept in the National Diet Library as "Komiyayama Sosho" (600 volumes) and in the Seikado Bunko in Tokyo as "Komiyayama Fuken Sosho" (140 volumes). His portrait by Naito Uzen is kept at the Shokokan in Mito. His achievements are detailed in "Seishinroku" by his disciple Ouchi Masayoshi (Gyokuko, 1784-1854). 江戸後期の水戸藩の儒学者。字(あざな)を子実、通称造酒之介(みきのすけ)、次郎衛門、号を楓軒(ふうけん)という。昌秀は諱(いみな)。水戸の碩学(せきがく)立原翠軒(たちはらすいけん)の門下で、温厚篤実な歴史学者。1783年(天明3)彰考館(しょうこうかん)に出仕、1799年(寛政11)郡奉行(こおりぶぎょう)に転じて20余年間、紅葉(もみじ)村(茨城県鉾田(ほこた)市)に在勤、難治の村々の救済に尽くした。1830年(天保1)町奉行、1838年致仕。『大日本史』『垂統大記』(1839)の編纂(へんさん)に従うほか『水府(すいふ)志料』(1807成立)『水城金鑑』『農政座右』(ともに1829成立)など歴史・農政に関する編著が多い。その多くが、「小宮山叢書(そうしょ)」(600冊)として国立国会図書館に、「小宮山楓軒叢書」(140冊)として東京・静嘉堂(せいかどう)文庫に収められている。内藤右膳(ないとううぜん)筆の肖像画が水戸・彰考館にある。その業績は、門人大内正敬(おおうちまさよし)(玉江(ぎょくこう)、1784―1854)の『清慎録(せいしんろく)』に詳しい。 [秋山高志 2016年5月19日] 『「小宮山楓軒」(『森銑三著作集8』所収・1971・中央公論社)』 [参照項目] | |出典 小学館 日本大百科全書(ニッポニカ)日本大百科全書(ニッポニカ)について 情報 | 凡例 |
