Year of death: May 11, 1773 (An'ei 2, leap year 3, 20) Year of birth: Unknown. A Confucian scholar and shogunate official in the mid-Edo period. His pen name was Kiminobu, and he was commonly known as Mokunoshin and Kentei. He lived in Koishikawa, Edo. He was a disciple of Dazai Shundai. He was active as an expert in agricultural policy and economics, writing a book on land surveys called "Shojoroku" at the command of Shogun Tokugawa Yoshimune, and was also praised for reclamation of Sakura Kogane (Sakura City, Chiba Prefecture). He held the position of magistrate in 1721 (Kyoho 6), and was highly regarded as a good official.
