Otogi-zoshi. Founded in the Muromachi period. In the early modern period, it was included in the Shibukawa edition of Otogi-zoshi and became popular. Ono no Komachi, who was famous for her natural beauty and talent for waka poetry, had grown old and become a pitiful sight, sheltering from the rain and rain in a hut near the capital. When she went out to the village to beg, people mocked her, saying, "Look at what the old Komachi has become." She made many wandering journeys from the eastern provinces to Oshu, and finally arrived at Ono in Tamazukuri, where she died in the grass. When Ariwara no Narihira came to Ono in Tamazukuri in search of the remains of the utamakura, he heard the first line of a poem, "As the autumn wind blows in the evening, so does the morning." along with the wind.
