[Died] A Chinese poet of the Southern Song Dynasty after 1276. Born in Siming (Yin County, Zhejiang Province). Style name: Junte. Pen names: Muso, Jakuou. His maiden name was Weng, and he is thought to have been adopted into the Wu family. His elder brother Weng Yinglong and younger brother Weng Genryu were also famous poets. In 1233, he became an official in the Cangsi office of Suzhou, and in 1243, he resigned from his position and moved to Hangzhou. He traveled between Suzhou and Hangzhou, traveling around as a patron to powerful people in various places, but his whereabouts in his later years and the year of his death are unknown. He composed many poems on themes such as love, separation, and nostalgia, and he also composed music. The rhetoric is so ingenious and elegant that it could be said to be too elaborate, and also somewhat obscure and lacking in freedom, so later criticism has been divided, but it is representative of the gorgeous style of poetry of the Southern Song Dynasty, which succeeded the so-called "refined school" of the Northern Song Dynasty. The collection of poems is called "Muso Shi A, B, C, and Ding Guo" or "Muso Shi".

中国，南宋の詞人。四明 (浙江省ぎん県) の人。字，君特。号，夢窓，覚翁。旧姓は翁で，呉家へ養子にいったと考えられる。兄の翁応龍，弟の翁元龍も詞人として名があった。紹定6 (1233) 年蘇州の倉司の役人となり，淳祐3 (43) 年その職を辞して杭州に移り，以後蘇州と杭州の間を往復しつつ，各地の権力者を後援者として遊歴したが，晩年の消息，没年は明らかではない。恋愛，離別，懐古などを主題とした詞が多く，作曲もしている。詞の典故，修辞は凝りすぎといえるほど巧妙華麗，かつやや晦渋で，奔放さに欠ける面もあり，後世の批評は分れるが，北宋のいわゆる「婉約派」のあとを継ぐ，南宋のあでやかな詞風を代表する。詞集は『夢窓詞甲乙丙丁稿』もしくは『夢窓詞』といわれる。
