Also called fushi. It is the dried galls that develop from bites by the sumac aphid on the leaves of plants of the Anacardiaceae family, such as sumac. It is an irregularly branched, gray-yellow to yellow-brown, sac-like substance about 8 cm long and 6 cm in diameter. The internal cavity may contain dead insects or wax.
