Refers to the parts that connect devices and cables to each other on computers and other digital devices. Also called terminals or ports. The main connectors used to connect computers to peripherals come in a variety of types and shapes, including "USB" for connecting external hard drives, mice, keyboards, etc., "IEEE1394" (also known as i.LINK, called FireWire on Macs) for connecting external hard drives, "VGA" and "DVI" for connecting displays, and "Ethernet" for connecting Ethernet cables (LAN cables). USB is the most versatile of these, and most computers have multiple connectors for it.
