The diary of the regent and minister of the interior, Fujiwara no Michimichi. It is also called "Gonijo Kanpaku-ki," "Gonijo Tono-ki," and "Michimichi Ko-ki." It covers a period of 17 years, from 1083 (Eiho 3) when he was appointed minister of the interior at the age of 22, to 1099 (Kōwa 1) when he died at the age of 38 as regent. Of these, the first volume of "Kanji 7th year (1093) February Princess Atsuko became Empress" is handwritten, and 29 volumes excluding the four years of Kanji 1st year (1087), Kaho 2nd year (1095), and Jotoku 1st year and 2nd year (1097, 1098) (however, the Kaho 1st year entry only has the precedent of the appointment of the regent and kankan minister, and there is no diary entry, and while there are years in which the four seasons are incomplete, there are also volumes with overlapping seasons) are old manuscripts that were handed down to the Konoe family and are currently in the possession of the Yomei Bunko. According to the colophon, this old manuscript is thought to have been copied and collated by the household stewards of Yorinaga, the grandson of the recorder, in 1151 (Nihei 1). In addition, six new copies of the works not included in this old manuscript, covering the autumn and winter of 1086, the autumn and winter of 1088, the spring ... and summer of 1088, are kept in the Archives and Mausolea Department of the Imperial Household Agency and elsewhere. These are valuable historical materials that provide insight into the state of affairs in the court and country during the early period of the Insei government at the end of the Heian period. They are included in the "Dai Nihon Kokiroku." [Osamu Nawa] Source: Shogakukan Encyclopedia Nipponica About Encyclopedia Nipponica Information | Legend |
