Unison - yunison (English spelling) unison English

A method of forming textures (sound composition principles) in music. It refers to the simultaneous sounding of the same pitch. Characterized by its thick effect, it is used not only in work songs, national anthems, and dormitory songs, but also in songs and orchestral music to emphasize the contrast with other polyphonic textures. If notes that are an octave apart are layered, it is not a pure unison, but when there is no awareness of parallel octaves and a man and a woman sing the same melody together, it can be considered a unison.

音楽においてテクスチュア（音構成原理）を形成する方式の一つ。同一の音高を同時に響かせることをいう。その厚みを感じさせる効果が特徴で、労働歌、国歌、寮歌ばかりでなく、歌曲や管弦楽曲でも他の多声的なテクスチュアとの対比を強調するときに用いられる。オクターブ関係にある音を重ねて進行すれば純粋のユニゾンではないが、オクターブ平行の意識が働かず、男女が同一旋律を斉唱するときなどはユニゾンとみなすこともできる。
